Windows Server 2012 - Configuring the DNS Server Role
Prerequisites:
· Processor - 2 GHz or faster
· Memory - 2 GB RAM or greater
· Available Disk Space - 40 GB or greater
· Display - XGA (1024x768) monitor
· Operating System – Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2
Instructions:
1. Install Windows Server 2012 or WS 2012 R2 with above hardware requirement and Server Manager Shows as below
2. Choose Manage and Add Roles and Features
3. Click Next on First Screen for setting new DNS role
4. Choose Role-Based-Installation and Click Next
5. Select the Destination Server
6. Select DNS and Add the Feature and Click Next
6. Click Next in the Screen
7. Click Install
For DNS configuration, the reboot is not necessary. If there is any removal of Service then reboot is necessary.

After Installation Completes Close the screen

8. In Server Manager, Click Tools and Choose DNS
9. Right Click on the DNS and Choose Properties
10. Workaround the properties and Choose the DNS required.
11. Go to Monitoring Tab and Click Simple Query against this DNS Server and Test whether it is PASS or FAIL.
